Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival In Fes

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at Fes airport, our driver will greet you and transfer you to your riad. Enjoy your first evening at leisure, exploring the medina or relaxing after your journey.
Overnight in Fes.

Day 2: Fes – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Depart early, driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Pass by cedar forests and Berber villages like Azrou and Midelt. Stop to see the wild monkeys in the cedar forest. Continue through the scenic Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga.
Overnight in Merzouga (desert lodge or riad).

Day 3: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Desert – Camel Trek

Explore Merzouga and its surroundings: visit Khamlia village for traditional Gnawa music, stop by nomadic families, and see the seasonal lake of Merzouga. In the afternoon, ride camels across the golden dunes to reach your desert camp.
Dinner & Overnight in a luxury desert camp in Erg Chebbi.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Watch the sunrise over the dunes before returning by camel. After breakfast, travel to Rissani and visit its traditional market. Continue through Erfoud and the lush Todra Valley, reaching the dramatic Todra Gorges. End the day in the scenic Dades Valley.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou

Drive through the Valley of Roses and visit Kasbah Amridil in Skoura. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient fortified village.
Overnight in Ait Ben Haddou or nearby.

Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

Cross the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m) through the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy panoramic views and Berber villages en route to Marrakech. Arrive and settle into your accommodation.
Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech City Tour

Explore Marrakech with a local guide: visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Stroll through the souks and visit Majorelle Garden (optional).
Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech – Essaouira

Depart for the coastal town of Essaouira. Along the way, see Argan tree goats and visit an Argan oil cooperative. Once in Essaouira, enjoy the fresh sea breeze, explore the medina, and walk along the beach or ramparts.
Overnight in Essaouira.

Day 9: Essaouira – Casablanca

Drive along the scenic Atlantic coast toward Casablanca. Upon arrival, visit the majestic Hassan II Mosque (exterior visit or interior if open to tourists), Corniche, and other city highlights.
Overnight in Casablanca.

Day 10: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, head to Rabat, the capital city, and visit the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Continue to Meknes to see Bab Mansour and Lahdim Square before returning to Fes in the evening.
Overnight in Fes.

Day 11: Departure From Fes

Transfer to the airport in Fes for your departure. End of our services.

Does this itinerary visit Chefchaouen and Tangier?
While the overview mentions them, the detailed 11-day route provided focuses on the Sahara Desert, Marrakech, Essaouira, and the imperial cities. If you wish to add Chefchaouen and Tangier, please let us know so we can adjust the route to a longer or alternative itinerary.

How much time do we spend in the Sahara Desert?
You will have two full days dedicated to the Merzouga area (Days 3 and 4). This includes a camel trek, a night in a luxury desert camp, a sunrise, and visits to Gnawa musicians and nomadic families.

Is a guided tour included in Marrakech?
Yes, on Day 7 you will be paired with a certified local guide in Marrakech who will take you through the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the souks, and Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

Can I fly out of Casablanca on the last day instead of returning to Fes?
The official tour ends on Day 11 with a transfer to Fes Airport. However, on Day 10 we arrive in Fes, so if you prefer to depart from Casablanca, we can arrange a direct transfer from Casablanca on Day 9 or Day 10 instead of returning to Fes.
