Pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:00 AM. Journey through the High Atlas Mountains, with scenic stops in traditional Berber villages. Cross the Tizi n’Test Pass, offering panoramic mountain views. Stop in a Berber village for mint tea and cultural insight. Arrive in Taroudant, a walled town rich in history. Explore the medina, souks, and old ramparts.
Overnight at a riad or hotel in Taroudant
Depart after breakfast, passing through the lush Souss Valley. Visit a Berber women’s argan oil cooperative to learn about the traditional extraction process. Arrive in Agadir, known for its beaches and sunshine. Visit the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella for views of the port and city. Relax along the beach promenade or unwind at a seaside café.
Overnight stay in Agadir.
Start with a visit to the reconstructed Medina of Agadir, built by artist Coco Polizzi. Shop for handmade crafts and watch artisans at work. Visit Souk El Had, one of the largest markets in Morocco. Stroll through Jardin d’Olhao, a tranquil Portuguese-inspired garden. The afternoon is yours for optional activities including a camel ride along the beach, an ATV ride through sand dunes, paddleboarding, surfing, or a relaxing thalassotherapy spa session.
Overnight stay in Agadir.
Depart for Essaouira with scenic coastal drives. Stop at Aghroud Village, known for its colorful, painted homes and artistic charm. Continue along the coast, stopping for photo opportunities. Arrive in Essaouira and check into your riad or hotel. Visit the Skala de la Ville and enjoy views from its historic cannons. Explore Essaouira’s medina and browse local crafts and art. Enjoy lunch at the Essaouira fish market or a seaside restaurant. Spend the late afternoon at the port or relaxing on the beach, and explore the sunset from a rooftop terrace.
Overnight in Essaouira.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in Essaouira. Take advantage of free time in the medina or along the coast for last-minute shopping or a walk by the sea. Enjoy an optional lunch at a seaside restaurant with ocean views. In the afternoon, begin your transfer back to Marrakech. Drop-off at your riad, hotel, or the airport.
Why do we take the Tizi n’Test pass instead of the Tizi n’Tichka pass?
The Tizi n’Test pass takes you further south through the stunning Souss Valley and authentic Berber villages, leading directly to Taroudant and Agadir, whereas Tizi n’Tichka goes east toward the desert and Ouarzazate.
Why spend two nights in Agadir?
Agadir offers a completely different, relaxed coastal vibe compared to the inland cities. Two nights give you time to enjoy the beach, visit the large Souk El Had, and try optional activities like surfing or ATV riding without feeling rushed.
What is special about the Aghroud Village?
Aghroud is a hidden gem known as the “Village of Colors.” The local homes are vibrantly painted, making it an incredibly photogenic stop that offers a peaceful look into local life away from the typical tourist hubs.
Is the drive from Essaouira back to Marrakech long?
No, it is a very straightforward and scenic drive of about 2.5 to 3 hours, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy a final morning and lunch by the sea in Essaouira before your afternoon transfer.
